Express Train Delayed Due to Bomb Threat, Police Launch Investigation

Kosice, November 3 (TASR) – An anonymous call reporting a bomb prompted the police to stop the 604 Dargov express train in Kysak (Kosice region) for a pyrotechnic search late on Thursday, TASR learnt on Friday.

The train heading to Bratislava from Kosice was thus delayed by 103 minutes.

In the morning, an unidentified individual placed a call to emergency line 112 from a telephone located in the village of Kysak. The bomb threat was announced with a sentence: “A bomb, bomb is train number six to Kosice! [sic]”

According to Kosice regional police spokesperson Lenka Ivanova, the police searched the train with a negative result. “A Kosice District Police Directorate investigator has already started a criminal investigation into panic-mongering,” she told TASR, adding that the police are searching intensively for the perpetrator.
