Christmas: Fico and Kalinak to Enjoy Cabbage Soup, Solymos Fish Soup

Bratislava, December 24 (TASR) – Prime Minister Robert Fico will spend Christmas at home with his wife and son, with the Christmas Eve menu in their household consisting of carp, potato salad and cabbage soup.

“My mum makes sour mushroom soup, but she’ll bring it to me tomorrow. So, I’ll have that as well,” said Fico, who plans to have a workout before Christmas Eve dinner.

For his dinner, Interior Minister Robert Kalinak will also enjoy cabbage soup made by his wife. “It’s an excellent combination of the Bratislava and Liptov types of cabbage soup,” said Kalinak, who was caught red-handed putting gifts under the Christmas tree by his son. “I had a lot of explaining to do about what was going on,” he claimed with a smile.

Health Minister Tomas Drucker intends to have a rest during the holidays at home surrounded by his family. The same plan is being observed by Environment Minister Laszlo Solymos, who will spend Christmas Eve at his brother’s, as they take turns in preparing the Christmas menu, made up of wafers, halaszle (Hungarian fish soup) and carp with salad. Solymos is looking forward to a period of peace with the family all together.
