NDS Prepares Tender for Reconstruction of Sekule Rest Stop on D2

Bratislava, February 25 (TASR) – The National Highway Company (NDS) has published a call in the Public Procurements Bulletin for a contractor to carry out repairs at the Sekule (Trnava region) rest stop on the D2 motorway, with the cost estimated at €5.7 million, TASR learnt on Thursday.

The reconstruction work is divided into three stages. In the first one a parking area for lorries will be reconstructed. Then parking spaces near the petrol station will be readjusted. Service areas are set to be built in the third stage.

“Concerning the work, there will also be a modernisation of public lighting, an expansion of the sewage system, drinking water pipes and a complete replacement of the rest stop’s equipment,” stated NDS.

“Constant camera surveillance will be installed at the rest stop. This will lead to increased safety for visitors to this facility.” stated NDS.

The contract won’t be jointly financed from EU Funds.
