Slovakia's Defence Budget to Reach 1.22 percent of GDP in 2018

Bratislava, October 4 (TASR) – The Defence Ministry’s budget in 2018 should reach €1.08 billion, up by 9.29 percent year-on-year, reaching 1.22 percent of Slovakia’s GDP, according to the state budget draft released by the Finance Ministry on Wednesday.

At the same time more than €325 million (up by 15.3 y-o-y) was allocated for development in defence, including equipment and special materials, infrastructure, communication and information systems, transport vehicles, modernisation of aircraft and the purchase of helicopters.
