Stats Office: Employment in Industry Up 3.7% Y-o-Y in November 2017

Bratislava, January 12 (TASR) – Employment rose year-on-year in most sectors in November 2017, including in restaurants and pubs – by 8 percent, in the sale and repair of motor vehicles – 7.4 percent, and in industry and in transport and warehousing – 3.7 percent each, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Friday.

Annual increases were also recorded in the following sectors in November: in accommodation – 3.1 percent, in retail – 2.7 percent, in construction and in information and communications activities – 2.2 percent each, and in wholesale – 1.4 percent. Employment only went down in selected market services – by 0.4 percent.

Meanwhile, average employment rates for the first eleven months of 2017 increased y-o-y in the following categories: in the sale and repair of motor vehicles – by 8.3 percent, in restaurants and pubs – 7.9 percent, in accommodation – 6.7 percent, in information and communications activities – 3.7 percent, in transport and warehousing – 3.6 percent; in retail – 3.2 percent, in industry – 3.1 percent, in construction and in wholesale – 2.4 percent each, and in selected market services – 1.9 percent.
