Israel and Slovakia to Continue Cooperation in Several Fields

Bratislava, August 17 (TASR) – The Cabinet at its session on Wednesday agreed that cooperation between Slovakia and Israel in the areas of education, science, culture, youth and sport will continue for the next three years at least.

“Current cooperation will be expanded by the area of education about gender equality, vocational education and training, technical education and cooperation in the sectors of technologies and innovative industry,” stated the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry, adding that emphasis will be put on education about and research into the Holocaust.

In the area of science, cooperation will mainly concern exchanges of scientists and researchers and direct cooperation between universities. Cooperation in sport will feature exchange programmes involving youth and sports clubs.

When it comes to culture, Israel and Slovakia should join forces in protecting cultural heritage, literature, audiovisual works and intellectual property rights, exchanges of information about upcoming cultural events, support for exhibitions and cooperation between artists, museums and galleries. Cooperation should also encompass theatre, dance, film and traditional folklore.
