Slovak EU Presidency Gets Giant Flower Logo in Downtown Bratislava

Bratislava, July 29 (TASR) – The Slovak Presidency of the EU Council has received a giant logo made from flowers, which is drawing public attention in front of the historical building of the Slovak National Theatre (SND) in Bratislava.

The logo was presented by representatives of the Dutch Embassy in Slovakia, Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry and the Bratislava-Old Town borough on Wednesday.

Designed by 23-year-old visual artist Jakub Dusicka, the giant picture is composed of as many as 3,000 flowers, including roses, lavenders, boxwood and surfinias. Flowers for the logo were a gift of the Dutch Embassy. According to Ambassador Richard van Rijssen, they also symbolise the culmination of cooperation between the two countries within the Trio of EU presiding countries (along with Malta in the first half of 2017).

The ambassador trusts Slovakia, stating that it will certainly preside the EU intelligently, “reconciling the divided European Union and welcoming the entire Europe to Slovakia’s beautiful capital”.
