OLaNO: PG Ciznar Should Suspend First Deputy PG Peter Sufliarsky

Bratislava, March 22 (TASR) – According to the opposition Ordinary People (OLaNO) party, Prosecutor-General Jaromir Ciznar should immediately suspend First Deputy Prosecutor-General Peter Sufliarsky and publish the SMS communication between Sufliarsky and Marian K., who’s charged with ordering the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak.

Vice-chair of OLaNO Veronika Remisova stated on Friday that Sufliarsky should consider further occupation of his post and accept personal liability.

The party reacted to information published in the media that Sufliarsky had good relations with Marian K.

“According to the information, allegedly from an investigation file, Sufliarsky and Marian K. were in written contact approximately for seven months from January 2017,” stated Remisova. She pointed out that the alleged communication took place in a period when suspicions of Marian K.’s murder activity were growing. According to her and some media, the communication was friendly.

Remisova stressed that Sufliarsky should have been investigating the suspicions, not SMSing with Marian K..

The OLaNO vice-chair refused to speculate about the possibility that the governing coalition wanted Sufliarsky to gain the post of prosecutor-general. Ciznar’s term of office is due to end next year.
