Robert Fico Denies that He Knows Antonino Vadala Personally

Bratislava, February 20 (TASR) – I deny that I know Italian businessman Antonino Vadala personally, Smer-SD Chairman and former prime minister Robert Fico said in response to the information published by the Italian daily La Repubblica.

“Robert Fico doesn’t know Antonino Vadala. This is just a purpose-built effort to stir up passions before tomorrow [first anniversary of journalist Jan Kuciak’s murder, ed. note] and divert attention from Andrej Kiska’s tax frauds, Robert Fico has pointed out today,” said Smer-SD party spokesman Jan Mazgut.

The Italian Prosecutor’s Office found in 2012 that Italian businessman Antonino Vadala had a phone call with then Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD), Dennik N daily has reported on Wednesday referring to the Italian daily La Repubblica.
