SaS: Danko Blackmails Smer-SD to Strengthen Own Position in Coalition

Bratislava, April 19 (TASR) – Slovak National Party (SNS) chair Andrej Danko is blackmailing Smer-SD in order to strengthen his own position in the coalition, think representatives of Opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party Richard Sulik, Jana Kissova and Lubomir Galko.

In their response to the criticism by junior coalition partner SNS heaped against Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD), the liberals once again underline the need for an early election.

Later in the day, Pellegrini is slated to meet with Danko and clear up a few issues, as Danko believes that Pellegrini’s stances on a number of issues are unclear and must be clarified.

“Once again, the governing coalition has reached the stage where it’s apparent that public interest is on the back burner because rackets and partisanship interests have taken precedence,” claimed Sulik, who believes that the current tension between SNS and Pellegrini regarding Slovakia’s orientation in foreign affairs is only an artificial conflict provoked by SNS.
