Revenues in Wholesale Down by 0.5 percent Y-o-Y in December 2015

Bratislava, February 3 (TASR) – Revenues from own activities and goods increased both in the sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles and in retail by 1 percent month-on-month in December 2015, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Wednesday.

Revenues in accommodation rose by 0.3 percent m-o-m, while those in wholesale went down by 0.5 percent and those in pubs and restaurants decreased by 0.2 percent.

Meanwhile, revenues from the sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles grew significantly year-on-year in December 2015 – by 21.8 percent. This was due to growth in sales of motor vehicles by 32.4 percent y-o-y and in sales of parts and accessories by 3 percent. Revenues in the repair and maintenance of vehicles dropped by 6.5 percent y-o-y.

Over the whole twelve months of 2015 revenues from the sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 16.7 percent y-o-y, mainly due to growth in sales of motor vehicles by 24.8 percent y-o-y and in sales of parts and accessories by 2.4 percent. Revenues in the repair and maintenance of vehicles dropped by 2.4 percent y-o-y between January-December.
