Meanwhile, TASR employed 140 people in 2015. “The TASR board of directors positively evaluated the agency’s innovativeness and innovations. The teraz.sk website has found its way in the market very quickly. The digitalisation of our archives was also highly regarded,” said Masar.

The annual report states that the teraz.sk website was visited by more than 11 million people last year. TASR also converted more than 1.3 million materials into electronic versions.

“We’ve developed other websites. The vtedy.sk website deals with history, and the tablet.tv website is a highly respected brand of online television. It’s among the trendsetters on the online market,” states the report.

TASR developed yet another website called newsnow.sk at the end of 2015. This contains English transcripts of TASR’s stories and is the agency’s contribution to Slovakia’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU.
