Caputova: Parliamentary Vice-chair Glvac Should Resign

Bratislava, November 6 (TASR) – President Zuzana Caputova stated at a briefing on Wednesday that she thinks Parliamentary Vice-chair Martin Glvac (Smer-SD) should step down from his post.

“I think that he should resign from the post of parliamentary vice-chair. After all, it’s a senior post and position, the second most senior in Parliament,” she stated.
Most-Hid chair Bela Bugar said on Wednesday that his party will support a motion to convene an extraordinary House session to hold a no-confidence vote in Glvac and that Most-Hid will probably also vote for his ouster.

The opposition wanted to remove Glvac in October over his alleged chats with entrepreneur Marian K., who faces charges of ordering the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak. However, as the programme of the extraordinary session at which Glvac was supposed to face an ouster attempt wasn’t approved by Parliament, the opposition failed to do so.

Glvac subsequently stated that he’ll announce whether he’ll remain or step down soon.
