Kiska Relishes in Macron's Victory in France, Says It's Happy Day

Bratislava, May 8 (TASR) – Slovak President Andrej Kiska on Monday sent a telegram of congratulations to newly elected French president Emmanuel Macron, wishing him success in carrying out all tasks related to the office, Kiska’s spokesman Roman Krpelan told TASR on the same day.

“Your victory is a happy day for all who believe in a united and strong Europe. Cooperation in the European Union based on common values is irreplaceable for us, enabling us to overcome all challenges today and in the future,” wrote Kiska in the telegram, adding that he’s looking forward to cooperating with Marcon and deepening what he described as “traditionally excellent and intense” relations between Slovakia and France.
