Pellegrini: Using Chemical Weapons against Civilians Is Inadmissible

Bratislava, April 14 (TASR) – Any use of chemical weapons against the civilian population is inadmissible and under no conditions is it acceptable, reads the position of Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) provided to TASR by the Cabinet Office’s Press Department on Saturday.

“Therefore, I view the allies’ targeted missile strikes in Syria chiefly as a warning and efforts to prevent further attacks like this. However, we must make our utmost diplomatic efforts so that we can always prefer peaceful solutions to conflicts to military ones,” stated Pellegrini.
U.S., British and French forces struck Syria with more than 100 missiles in early morning hours on Saturday in the first coordinated Western strikes against the Syrian Government, targeting what they called chemical weapons sites in retaliation for a poison gas attack.
