Bratislava, May 9 (TASR) – As of Thursday the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) will launch a series of practical advice on the use of the official Slovak language, TASR general director Vladimir Puchala announced on Wednesday.

“We’ll provide practical advice on avoiding mistakes when using the official Slovak language. We’ll look at frequent lexical mistakes, analyse suffixes in declension and conjugation and point to inappropriate phraseology, but we won’t bypass the importance of accents [above letters] and the borrowing of expressions from other languages, either – all in theory and with practical examples; in ordinary life, in the language of the media and public officials. We want to provide information on Slovak as a developing language that reacts to real life,” said Puchala.

The series will appear in TASR’s service every Tuesday and Thursday.
