Transport Minister Roman Brecely Has Become New Siet Chairman

Trnava, August 13 (TASR) – Transport, Construction and Regional Development Minister Roman Brecely has become a new governing coalition Siet (Network) party leader at the extraordinary party congress in Trnava on Saturday.

Brecely was the only candidate for the post and received 86 votes from the total of 125 delegates. Former Siet leader Radoslav Prochazka did not choose to run in the election.

Two other Siet members were thought to run for the post as well. However, Eduard Adamcik left the congress in protest, while Tomas Stoklasa gave up even before the election and supported Brecely.

“It wasn’t a pre-agreed plan, nor my ambition. I’ll have to cope with this position. I also remain at the post of the Transport Minister,” Brecely told the media.
