Stats Office: Slovakia's GDP Up 4.6 percent in 3Q18

Bratislava, November 14 (TASR) – Slovakia’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 4.6 percent year-on-year in fixed prices in the third quarter of this year, according to a preliminary GDP growth estimate published by the Statistics Office on Wednesday.

When seasonal effects were taken into account, GDP was up by 4.5 percent y-o-y and by 1.1 percent quarter-on-quarter.

In current prices, GDP in July-September amounted to €23.797 billion, up by 7 percent y-o-y.
Total employment stood at 2.431 million in 3Q18, rising by 1.9 percent y-o-y. After seasonal adjustments, total employment was 2 percent higher than in 3Q17 and 0.4 percent higher than in the previous quarter.

The Statistics Office will release updated GDP growth and employment figures based on further available data on December 7.
