Family Alliance Calls on House Candidates to Sign Family Declaration
Bratislava, February 18 (TASR) – Slovakia is getting older and dying out, so civil initiative the Family Alliance (AZR) wants elected MPs to be the voice of families, AZR chairman Anton Chromik announced at a press conference on Thursday, adding that relevant parties should support its Family Declaration.
According to AZR, positive responses to the declaration have come from candidates representing the Christian Democrats (KDH), OLaNO-NOVA and extraparliamentary parties Siet, the Slovak National Party (SNS) and Hungarian Community Party (SMK).
By supporting the declaration candidates pledge that as elected MPs they will vote for all good and suitable measures so that families will be able to afford to have more children. They should also support a constitutional amendment for the right of children to have a father and mother via adoptions. They should vote against the “abuse of women in the form of uterus leasing” and support increases in benefits for those who take care of higher numbers of children.
MP candidates who sign the declaration also bind themselves to supporting tax allowances for families with three or more children. They should oppose support for “LGBTI ideology propaganda” from the state budget and back a strong media law to protect family and marriage values. Children and young people should be defended from unsuitable content on TV and radio.
“We consider the key issue to be the unity of all political entities in a systematic pro-family policy that can reverse negative demographic developments,” said Chromik, adding that AZR wants to give a vote to families.
Candidates for the House can find the declaration on website hlaszarodinu.sk and sign up until the March 5 election. “We call on all candidates to take a look at the declaration and to show people their own opinions,” added Chromik.
