Kiska and Fico on Results of US Presidential Election

Bratislava, November 9 (TASR) – Slovak President Andrej Kiska on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election.

“The US is an important partner and ally of Slovakia and the EU. I consider it important that it stays that way in the future,” added Kiska.

Prime Minister Robert Fico said that the result of the US presidential election has confirmed that the world, as well as Slovakia, is entirely different than what is presented by the media.

“We all have to listen to the people; this truth has absolutely shown itself in the USA. I want to congratulate the new US president. As Slovak premier I totally respect the will of US citizens,” said Fico.

Republican Donald Trump has thus become the 45th president of the United States of America. Trump has beaten his opponent Democrat Hillary Clinton. He is to replace incumbent Barack Obama on January 20, 2017.
