Kiska Sees Politicians' Will behind Best-ever Slovak-Hungarian Relations

Budapest, December 5 (TASR correspondent) – The will of politicians is behind the best-ever relationship between Slovakia and Hungary, Slovak President Andrej Kiska said following the meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Janos Ader in Budapest on Monday.

“The will and the role of politicians was and is visible behind these all-time best relations. And it is visible, on the model of the Hungarian-Slovak relationship, how very important the tone taken by politicians is,” Kiska told a news conference, adding that if there are differing opinions on some issues, they are always being solved not in the media, but rather through political discussion.

Ader stressed that Slovakia is Hungary’s third most important trade partner. The two countries managed to develop their relations significantly in the field of transport over the past few years, said Ader, adding that cooperation in the field of energy security is very efficient, too.
