Forest Fire Broke Out in High Tatra Mountains, Tens of Firefighters in Action
Vysoke Tatry, May 3 (TASR) – A fire broke out in the High Tatra Mountains (Presov region) and has already covered an area of about 30 hectares, TASR learnt from spokesperson of the Firefighter and Rescue Corps (HaZZ) Zuzana Farkasova.

The forest fire in the area of Kezmarske Zlaby has been extinguished from about 2 p.m. by approximately 50 professional and volunteer firefighters from Kezmarok, Vysoke Tatry, Poprad and Presov. At the same time, a Mi-17 helicopter of the Armed Forces with a Bambi bucket arrived at the site, and started to extinguish the fire from above. The extinguishing is difficult because of the hard-to-access mountainous terrain. Tourists are asked to avoid the locality of the fire.
