Parliament Reopened after Three-Hour Closure Over Bomb Scare
Bratislava, March 8 (TASR) – The Parliament building has been reopened for both staff and politicians after it was closed by the police on Thursday morning due to an alleged bomb threat, TASR learnt on the same day.
It wasn’t necessary to evacuate the building, stated the parliamentary chair’s secretariat spokesman Tomas Kostelnik. “After three hours the Parliament building has been reopened,” he said, adding that police have confirmed that the check for explosives carried out in the building came out negative.
Various employees at the Parliament received an email alleging a bomb threat earlier in the morning. Some politicians cancelled or changed the location of their press conferences due to this.
