Slovak Troops to Take Part in Tank Challenge Exercise in Germany
Bratislava, January 27 (TASR) – Around 40 members of the Slovak Armed Forces will take part in the Tank Challenge international military exercise in Germany in May, the Government approved a proposal for the deployment of Slovak soldiers to the exercise on Wednesday.
The Government also approved the deployment of Slovak military personnel to other international exercises, including in Hungary, where a military divers exercise will be held, and in the Czech Republic, where sniper training will take place.
Slovak military helicopter pilots will be sent to an exercise to Austria in April to practise flying in mountainous areas. Special forces soldiers will go to Poland in May to train in tactical procedures.
In addition, soldiers from abroad will be dispatched to Slovak training areas. An exercise involving toxic chemicals will take place in Zemianske Kostolany (Trencin region), with military chemists from Belgium, Austria, the USA, the Czech Republic and France all participating.
The Lest training area (Banska Bystrica region) will be the site of a special forces exercise including around 20 American soldiers and also an exercise in urban area combat, with approximately 100 Polish soldiers taking part.
