Andrej Danko Has Health Problems, Operation of Stomach Potentially Needed

Bratislava, April 21 (TASR) – Parliamentary chair Andrej Danko (SNS) has health problems that might require surgical operation, Parliament’s Office communication director Zuzana Cizmarikova confirmed on Thursday.

“Facing an enormous work stress, partially caused also by the general election, the parliamentary chair underwent a standard medical examination at the hands of his doctor MUDr. Milos Buban due to a recurring stomach ache. At his recommendation, he also underwent a series of further examinations. The current diagnosis doesn’t rule out even a potential surgical operation of the stomach,” said Cizmarikova.

Danko is a patient of the National Institute of Oncology (NOU), NOU spokesperson Viktoria Vasilenkova confirmed to TASR. She claimed that an as-of-yet unanalysed abnormal-looking area has been found on Danko’s stomach lining.

Cizmarikova emphasised that Danko chose to inform public in order to prevent the fueling of speculations. “Due to this, he chose to inform both public and media about every following step taken by doctors,” she concluded.
