Alena Zs. and Co. Charged with Planning Murders of Prosecutors and Lipsic

Bratislava, August 14 (TASR) – An investigator of the Interior Ministry’s Inspection Service Office has pressed charges against Alena Zs., Tomas Sz., Miroslav M. and Zoltan A. for planning the murders of two prosecutors and a lawyer, the Interior Ministry’s press department told TASR on Wednesday, specifying that the prosecutors in question are Peter Sufliarsky and Maros Zilinka, while the lawyer is Daniel Lipsic.

All four have also been charged regarding the case of the murders of Jan Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kusnirova.

Prosecutor-General Jaromir Ciznar in February confirmed that one person among Sufliarsky, Zilinka and Lipsic was screened to a level of 99 percent. He added that police officers were probably involved, and for this reason an inspection would be involved in the investigation of the planned murder.

Ciznar stated that screening blocked records is difficult and actually ‘impossible’ without cooperation from the police. The information that the suspects obtained was detailed, and they couldn’t have obtained it on their own.

Alena Zs. is also charged in the case of the murder of ex-mayor of Hurbanovo (Nitra region) Laszlo Basternak. Along with Tomas Sz. and Zoltan A., they have also been charged with illicit arming and trading in weapons.
