Exhibition Devoted to Chiari Kicks Off 'Dolce Vitaj' Festival of Italian Culture

Bratislava, May 16 (TASR) – The twelfth ‘Dolce Vitaj’ annual festival of Italian culture in Slovakia will be kicked off on Thursday by an exhibition devoted to Avant-Garde Florentine conceptual artist and experimental musician Giuseppe Chiari (1926-2007).

“An exhibition of items from a collection of Carlo Palli in Prata will be on display in the Povazska Galeria Umenia [Vah Arts Gallery] in Zilina,” TASR was told by Zuzana Golianova, who was speaking on behalf of the festival organiser the Italian Culture Institute in Bratislava.

“Observing Chiari’s works means re-discovering art in all its forms, as this allows us to analyse several languages used by Italian and international artists in the 1960s,” said exhibition curator Laura Monaldi.

“Chiari stepped over the borders of human fantasy, and by blending several artistic forms, he created innovative works that will surely make history,” she said.

The exhibition will be on display until June 30.
