Defence Ministry: Ammunition Also Missing from Sklene Storehouse
Bratislava, June 28 (TASR) – An ammunition storehouse in Sklene (Zilina region) was identified as another location with missing ammo, following the theft of unspecified ammunition from the Slovak Armed Forces’ stocks in Trencin-Kubra discovered in April, Defence Ministry spokesperson Danka Capakova told TASR on Wednesday.
After discovering the case in Trencin-Kubra in April, the General Staff launched a thorough inspection of all military stocks throughout the country, including missile stocks. Defence Minister Peter Gajdos (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) at the time announced that this would require around six months.
“We can confirm that a relatively large amount of cartridges is missing from the Sklene ammunition storehouse,” said Capakova, declining to provide any further details, as the checks are on-going.
