Focus Poll: Smer Retains Clear Lead on 26.2 percent

Bratislava, October 16 (TASR) – Had a general election been held in early October, it would have been won by the governing Smer-SD party on 26.2 percent of the votes, TASR has learnt from a poll carried out by Focus agency on a sample of 1,003 respondents between October 4-11, the results of which were released on Monday.

Next came the Opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party on 13.8 percent. The far-right People’s Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) came third on 10.1 percent of votes.

On 9.4 percent of votes, We Are Family-Boris Kollar was fourth in the poll, followed by OLaNO-NOVA on 8.5 percent.

Three other parties would have reached the 5-percent threshold required for seats in Parliament – the Slovak National Party/SNS (8.1 percent), the Christian Democratic Movement/KDH (7.3 percent) and Most-Hid (6 percent).

A total of 67.8 percent of the respondents would have gone to the polls. Around 20.1 percent wouldn’t have voted, while 12.1 percent were undecided as to whether to participate in an election or not.
