Premier Pellegrini to Invite US President Trump to Slovakia

Washington/Bratislava, May 2 (TASR-correspondent) – Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD), who’s currently visiting the USA, will invite US President Donald Trump to Slovakia at their meeting on Friday in Washington.

Pellegrini stated this for the media, adding that he will leave it to the US administration to decide when the visit would possibly happen.

“It goes without saying that it’s fair to invite the president for a visit to Slovakia. It will be a general invitation with no binding to a specific date. Of course, it’d be a great honour for us if we could host him during an important event, however, the invitation which I’ll address him is general and it will be up to the US side to decide when and if he visits Slovakia,” reacted Pellegrini to reports that Trump could visit Slovakia in August.

According to Pellegrini, no preparations for the visit are currently being carried out as the information that Trump might be visiting Slovakia in summer goes beyond the reality.
