Hardly One Tenth of State Aid Spent in Rimavska Sobota in 18 Months
Hnusta, February 26 (TASR) – Only around €522,000 of the originally approved €6.35 million of regional aid for 2016-20 has been invested in Rimavska Sobota district (Banska Bystrica region) in 18 months, TASR learnt on Monday.
The largest amount of money has been spent on setting up and supporting the Regional Development Centre in Rimavska Sobota, on developing the industrial park’s infrastructure in the town of Hnusta and on boosting the capacity of the primary school in the village of Radnovce.
According to MP and Hnusta mayor Michal Bagacka (Smer-SD), the action plan adopted by the Government in June 2016 hasn’t been carried out as desired. Nevertheless, he highlighted the support for the industrial park in Hnusta, which should lead to further expansion and new jobs at the park.
In this context Government Proxy for Supporting the Least Developed Districts Anton Marcincin stated that the results of state financial aid aren’t seen immediately.
“We’re currently boosting the number of employees at the Government Office’s regional development section, and I assume that we’ll be able to restart the entire process so that it’s much faster and more flexible,” Marcincin told TASR.
The Cabinet at its away-from-home session in Hnusta earlier in the day allocated €1.08 million as an addendum to the action plan for Rimavska Sobota approved in 2016. The money is set to be used, for example, for the reconstruction of a cultural house in the village of Babinec, the reconstruction of a medical centre in the village of Batke and the reconstruction of a church in the village of Cerencany.
