I'll Miss You Andrej, Zeman Told Kiska During Farewell Visit

Bratislava/Lany, May 30 (TASR) – Slovak President Andrej Kiska attended a meeting with his Czech counterpart Milos Zeman at the Lany Chateau in the Czech Republic, which is the summer seat of Czech presidents, news portal Novinky.cz reported on Thursday.
Kiska arrived in Lany as part of his farewell visit to the Czech Republic before the end of his tenure.

“I’ll miss you, Andrej,” Zeman told Kiska, stressing that despite the occasional differences of opinion, he and the outgoing Slovak president have trusted and haven’t opposed each other.
After the meeting, Kiska praised the bilateral relations of the two countries and pointed out that Milos Zeman would soon be able to meet his successor Zuzana Caputova, who will become Slovak President on June 15. Her first foreign trip that is set to take place on June 20 will be to the Czech Republic.

At their meeting in Lany, Zeman and Kiska jointly supported the efforts of unsuccessful candidate for Slovak president Maros Sefcovic to gain one of the top posts within the new EU structures, said CT24 TV.

Kiska followed the tradition, according to which the first and last foreign journey of Czech and Slovak presidents is heading to the other of the successor countries of former Czechoslovakia.

The Slovak president made farewell trips to Poland and Hungary in April and May.
