Kiska: Lednicke Rovne Making Great Name for Our Country
Lednicke Rovne, January 18 (TASR) – Thanks to glass company RONA, the village of Lednicke Rovne (Trencin region) has established itself worldwide and is a great advertisement for our country, stated President Andrej Kiska after visiting the glass company in Lednicke Rovne on Thursday.
“I’m very proud that we have such a factory, that we have Slovak owners who’ve managed to maintain a factory with a long history. Many factories, either in the Czech Republic or Slovakia, have failed to do so. Here it’s been accomplished thanks to the determination and enthusiasm of the owners and the entire company management,” said Kiska.
The president further stated that he’s honoured to present various state visitors with gifts manufactured at the Lednice Rovne glassworks. “I proudly say that it’s a product of Slovak hands and Slovak wisdom,” added Kiska.
According to company executive director Lubomir Pech, the glassworks marked the 125th anniversary of its founding last year. The company currently employs 1,290 people, and its annual turnover amounts to some €64 million.
RONA exports its glass products to more than 80 countries on all continents. Exports account for almost 96 percent of total revenues. Around 60 million individual glass products are produced annually in Lednicke Rovne.
