NAJ Party Files Criminal Complaint against Prime Minister Fico
Bratislava, December 18 (TASR) – Non-parliamentary party Independence and Unity (NAJ) on Monday filed a criminal complaint against Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) for negligence in the health-care sector that has allegedly led to the needless deaths of over 11,000 citizens per year, party leader Viktor Beres told TASR on the same day.
“History will be rewritten soon, and the power of the oligarchs will definitively end. The illusory freedom of people that nobody listens to will be replaced by real democracy, and the people’s desire for the rule of law will take on real form,” said Beres.”History will be rewritten soon, and the power of the oligarchs will definitively end. The illusory freedom of people that nobody listens to will be replaced by real democracy, and the people’s desire for the rule of law will take on real form,” said Beres.
According to Beres, standard parties are supported by oligarchs through their media, while the nation is being manipulated by the marketing campaigns of rich parties. This results in underfinancing in almost all state sectors, including the “malnourished” health-care sector, which leads to the aforementioned 11,000 deaths annually.
“That’s why we’re filing a criminal complaint against Prime Minister Fico based on the suspicion of mismanaging taxpayers’ money in 2006-10 and 2012-17,” said Beres. During these periods businessmen Juraj Siroky, Jozef Brhel, Vladimir Poor and Miroslav Vyboh have acquired state orders worth over €2 billion that have led to insufficient financial coverage of health care, leading to needless deaths, he added.
Former MP Viktor Beres (2002-06) announced the setting up of NAJ last October. Apart from Beres, the other party founders are Radoslav Hecl, Peter Stastny, Adam Sepetka and Miroslav Seget. Among other people set to cooperate with the party are Slovak Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Self-employed People’s Association president Vladimir Sirotka, Senica mayor Branislav Grimm and mayor of Kosice’s borough of Juh Jaroslav Hlinka. NAJ’s ambition is to become a mass popular party nationwide.
