Pellegrini: Slovakia Expelled Russian Diplomat for Activities
Bratislava, December 5 (TASR) – Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) announced on Wednesday that Slovakia has expelled a Russian diplomat from the country, TASR learnt on the same day.
The premier added that the diplomat in question was engaged in activities that were no longer in line with how a diplomat should behave in EU and NATO countries.
The Russian diplomat was expelled on November 22 and had to leave Slovakia within 48 hours, said Pellegrini.
“Our political orientation is very clear, I will say that once again – pro-European, pro-NATO. We enjoy standard relations with the Russian Federation. We have done this in line with all diplomatic conventions and rules, and I’m glad that it was respected and that the person in question left the territory of Slovakia…,” said Pellegrini.
