Blaha: Kotleba Is Fascist Worm, He Mustn't Be Underestimated

Bratislava, May 25 (TASR) – Governing party Smer-SD MP Lubos Blaha on Thursday applauded Prosecutor-General Jaromir Ciznar’s decision to submit a motion to the Supreme Court aimed at dissolving the far-right Kotleba-People’s Party Our Slovakia (LSNS).

Ciznar described LSNS as an “extremist party with fascist tendencies”.

“I’m applauding!” Blaha wrote on Facebook. “I firmly believe that the court will clear away the fascists,” he wrote.

“There’s nothing [to speculate] about. Fascists should have no business in a civilised country. If anyone claims that they’ve made it into Parliament legally, well so did Hitler. There’s a difference in that Hitler wasn’t stopped in time, however, and this eventually cost the lives of millions of people. [LSNS chairman Marian] Kotleba is only a ridiculous worm compared to Hitler, but he’s a fascist worm, and so he mustn’t be underestimated,” stated Blaha.

“Everyone who’s been a member [of LSNS] should lose their right to be in politics, like sentenced criminals in Italy. Let’s halt the fascists, brethren. This time before they cause another war,” added Blaha.

Justice Minister Lucia Zitnanska (Most-Hid), commenting on the motion, stated that it will certainly cause a debate as to whether it perhaps might help LSNS in terms of PR, but this mustn’t prevent the authorities from enforcing the law.

Opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) MP Martin Poliacik commented on the decision with a brief “finally!”.

Meanwhile, fellow Opposition OLaNO-NOVA party head Igor Matovic doesn’t believe that the Government will be able to halt extremism by dissolving individual parties.

“Extremism will be halted when the top brass stops stealing and begins taking interest in ordinary people’s problems instead,” stated Matovic.
