Defence Ministry Announces Tender to Buy 4x4 Tactical Vehicles

Bratislava, June 5 (TASR) – The Defence Ministry has announced an international tender to buy multi-purpose 4×4 tactical vehicles for the Slovak Army, ministry spokesperson Danka Capakova told TASR on Wednesday.

The ministry intends to procure 424 vehicles at the maximum price of €321 million excluding VAT in this way. The total number of vehicles (424) also includes an option for 20 pieces for the Interior Ministry.

A framework agreement for the period of ten years is a part of the tender. This will include supplies of spare parts, mobile summer and winter masking, as well as fulfilment of additional needs caused by a crisis.

The project of the vehicles’ procurement is a part of the Long-term Plan for Development of Defence with Emphasis on Construction and Development of the Slovak Armed Forces until 2030.

Those interested in joining the tender have until July 2 to do so. The tender announcement has been published in the EU journal and will be published in the Public Procurement Bulletin.
