Drucker to Speak about Gaspar's Future When Health Allows
Bratislava, April 13 (TASR) – Interior Minister Tomas Drucker (a Smer-SD nominee) has already reached a decision concerning the issue of Police Corps President Tibor Gaspar’s future and will present his stance at a press conference when his health allows it, TASR was told by Interior Ministry spokesperson Andrea Dobiasova on Friday.

In addition, before the minister informs the public about his decision, he wants to meet and speak to Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) about the matter. As for his health, the interior minister, who was admitted to hospital on Thursday due to  problems with a herniated cervical disc, will have to undergo further diagnostic examinations, which will determine the need for any further medical procedures.
Drucker said at a press conference on Tuesday (April 10) that the fate of the Police Corps president should be clear on Thursday (April 12) or Friday (April 13). He planned to announce then whether he’ll oust Gaspar or not. Drucker hasn’t called on Gaspar to leave his post.
The Police Corps president recently didn’t rule out the possibility that he might decide to step down on his own, as there have been attacks on all police officers and the quality of their work. Gaspar is aware that thousands of people on the streets are calling for his dismissal, but he doesn’t feel that he’s causing problems in his post.
