Fico Cancels Thursday's Visit to Czech Republic for Health Reasons

Bratislava, April 14 (TASR) – Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) has cancelled Thursday’s planned visit to the Czech Republic due to health concerns, his spokesperson Beatrice Szaboova told TASR on Thursday.

This was supposed to be Fico’s first official foreign visit after the appointment of the new Cabinet. In Prague, he was set to meet his Czech counterpart Bohuslav Sobotka as well as Czech President Milos Zeman.

The talks were supposed to cover the development of economic cooperation, infrastructure projects, cooperation on security and tourism as well as current issues concerning European and international relations.

Fico is currently being examined at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Bratislava, institute spokesperson Dobroslava Krajacicova has confirmed for TASR.
According to Dennik N daily, the problem could have been caused by a heart attack.
