Fico Released from Hospital, Set to Recover from Heart Surgery at Home

Bratislava, May 1 (TASR) – Prime Minister Robert Fico was released from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NUSCH) in Bratislava on Sunday in order to continue his recovery from heart surgery at home, institute spokesperson Dobroslava Krajacicova told TASR on Sunday.

Fico also announced his release from hospital on his official Facebook profile. He thanked the doctors and nurses at NUSCH for the care provided to himself and other patients, describing the institute as a top-level facility. “Recuperation now awaits me,” stated Fico.

“The prime minister continues to carry out his official duties and is communicating with his closest professional environment,” Fico’s spokesperson Beatrice Szaboova told TASR.

Fico was admitted into NUSCH on April 14, eventually undergoing an unspecified heart operation on April 22.
