Pellegrini Denies Vying for Any EU Post, His Place in Slovakia

Bratislava, June 20 (TASR) – Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) hasn’t vied for any EU post and believes his purpose is in Slovakia, TASR learnt on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Pravda daily reported that Pellegrini had expressed serious interest in becoming the President of the European Council, the post currently held by Donald Tusk.

Responding to the rumour in his press release, Pellegrini wrote: “I perceive this mostly as recognition of my previous work, but my primary purpose is at home, in Slovakia.”
