Bratislava, March 9 (TASR) – The opening Parliament ceremony coupled with the handing over of election certificates to new legislators, originally slated for Tuesday (March 10), has been called off due to the coronavirus situation, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini announced after a session of crisis team on Monday.

The certificates will be delivered to the MPs by mail.

In addition, preventive coronavirus checks are to be introduced at all border crossings in Slovakia.

As of Tuesday, all Slovak nationals returning home from Italy, China, South Korea or Iran will be put under a mandatory 14-day quarantine and this will apply to all their relatives living with them in one household as well.

Furthermore, all public bodies have been banned from organising any public, sports or cultural events in the next 14 days,
