When asked what’s happening with his plan to become the Constitutional Court chair on TA3’s programme ‘V politike’ (In Politics) on Sunday, Prime Minister and Smer-SD chairman Robert Fico said that his ambition is to win another parliamentary election due to be held in 2020.

“I repeat that I have a clear ambition, namely to win a general election for the fifth time and set up a fourth government. Smer-SD is the most successful political project in Slovakia. No one has won four elections in a row. I’d like to beat this record. So my ambition is to win another election in 2020 with a result that will entitle us to form another government,” he said.
The premier stated that his alleged plan to run for the post of judge of the Constitutional Court is speculation that needn’t be spread. “My ambition is clear and defined,” he said.
Fico also rejected a move to a position in the EU. “I want to stay here, and I don’t want to go anywhere. I would love to stay at home, I’m not interested in such a journey at all,” he added.
