URSO: Water Charges to Remain at 2016 Levels

Bratislava, February 7 (TASR) – The Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (URSO) announced to Prime Minister Robert Fico on Tuesday that it will release a directive returning water charges to the levels seen in 2016, as it has done with electricity, Fico’s spokesperson Beatrice Szaboova reported on the same day.

Fico on Monday announced that electricity prices will make a U-turn back to the level seen in 2016 for the whole of Slovakia.

“Based on an agreement with power distributors, URSO will draw up a new decree on price regulation in power engineering … The decree won’t apply only to central Slovakia but to the whole of Slovak territory and will return terms to the levels seen in 2016. It will be approved via fast-track legislative proceedings and could be published in the Statute Book practically immediately, as it doesn’t need to undergo any inter-departmental review. The office can make a direct decision,” specified Fico after talks with Economy Minister Peter Ziga and top URSO figures on Monday.
