Poll: Smer-SD to Win General Election on 19.2% of Votes
Bratislava, May 10 (TASR) – If the parliamentary election had taken place the upcoming weekend (May 11-12), Smer-SD would have won on 19.2 percent of votes and garner 30 MP mandates, with the second place shared by Progressive Slovakia/Together coalition and far-right People’s Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) that would have garnered 13.6 votes and 21 MP seats each, according to election poll carried out by AKO agency.
The third place would have gone to Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) with 13.5 percent of votes and 21 MP seats, followed up by We Are Family (9.9 percent/15 seats), Slovak National Party (8.2 percent/13 seats), Christian Democratic Movement (7.4 percent/11 seats), Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (6.7 percent/9 seats) and Most-Hid (5.1 percent/8 seats).
According to the poll, 8.9 percent of respondents claimed they wouldn’t have voted, 17 percent was undecided and 1.3 percent refused to disclose their voting choices, whereas the remaining 72.8 percent participated in the poll.
The poll was carried out on a sample of 1,000 respondents on behalf of Progressive Slovakia party in May 8-10.
