Slovak Serviceman Dies Suddenly in Bosnia

Sarajevo/Bratislava, February 14 (TASR) – A 42-year old Slovak serviceman on duty in the ATLHEA operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and with experience from two missions in Afghanistan died suddenly in Sarajevo on Wednesday morning, Defence Ministry spokesperson Danka Capakova told TASR on Wednesday.

Major Peter Pavlovsky was a member of the Ground Forces Command of the Slovak Armed Forces.

“His condition suddenly deteriorated today in the morning. Medical assistance was provided to him immediately on the site of deployment at the Butmir camp in Sarajevo. He was transported to a hospital where he later died,” said Capakova, adding that Defence Minister Peter Gajdos (Slovak National Party/SNS) and Chief of the General Staff Milan Maxim have extended their sympathies to the bereaved.
