Sulik: Robert Mistrik Won't Be on SaS 2020 Slate

Bratislava, November 24 (TASR) – Unsuccessful presidential candidate Robert Mistrik won’t be on the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) slate, said SaS leader Richard Sulik on TV Markiza’s politics show ‘Na telo’ (‘Tough Questions’) on Sunday.

“We had several conversations. Robert Mistrik decided he will no longer be politically involved,” said Sulik, explaining that the reason may be the disappointment of the attempts to create a four- or five-strong coalition composed of SaS, For the People, PS-Together, OLaNO and the Christian Democrats (KDH).

Sulik’s partner in the discussion, far-right LSNS chairman Marian Kotleba, commented on the unsuccessful attempt to form an alliance with Stefan Harabin’s Homeland party. He pointed out that his party did its best to join. “We tried to accept Harabin’s terms and find what unites us instead of what divides us,” he said.

Kotleba added that his party is preparing for a “breakthrough” election. According to him, it will be decided on February 29, 2020 whether Slovakia will be “normally Slovak” or “liberally fanatic”.
