TASR to Cooperate with Bulgarian News Agency
Bratislava, June 19 (TASR) – The News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) has signed a contract on cooperation with the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) through which the two agencies will exchange news and later also pictures. The contract was signed by the chiefs of each agency, Vladimir Puchala (TASR) and Maxim Minchev (BTA), at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava on Tuesday.
“TASR wants to have contacts with reliable sources, and the Bulgarian News Agency is a reliable source of information. The agreement includes exchanging news services in English, so reliable first-hand information will be available to people in Slovakia and Bulgaria,” Puchala stated following the contract’s signing.
The agencies would like to exchange pictures in the near future, too. “I discussed internships with my counterpart, as well as expanding the whole contract,” said Puchala.
Puchala pointed out that TASR has developed cooperation with 20 news agencies all over the world. According to him, cooperating with BTA is important for several reasons. “Bulgaria is a destination where Slovaks travel a lot, it’s a country that has an ambition to join the Schengen area, as well as the eurozone. These are all issues that are interesting in Slovakia, as well,” added the TASR chief.
