Top Academic Titles Dropped from Agreement on Title Recognition

Bratislava, February 24 (TASR) – Recognition of university titles between Slovakia and Poland will change, with a bilateral agreement on the mutual recognition of education, diplomas, titles and degrees no longer including recognition of the titles of associate professor and professor, according to draft changes in the agreement okayed by the Government at its regular session on Wednesday.

The reason for the change is that work as an associate professor or professor is regulated by the state in Slovakia but not in Poland.

The bilateral agreement on the mutual recognition of education, diplomas, titles and degrees gained in Slovakia and Poland was signed in Warsaw on July 18, 2005.
