AKO Poll: Smer-SD Still in Lead on 24.8 percent in November

Bratislava, November 24 (TASR) – Had a general election taken place in November, it would have been won by the governing Smer-SD party on 24.8 percent of the votes, TASR learnt from Kamila Hrichova of AKO agency, which carried out a poll on a sample of 1,000 respondents between November 14-18.

The We Are Family party came fourth on 9.2 percent, followed by the Slovak National Party (SNS) on 8.9 percent and the far-right People’s Party Our Slovakia (LSNS) on 8.4 percent.

Two more parties – the Christian Democrats (KDH) and Most-Hid – would also have made it into the House – on 7 and 5.8 percent, respectively. The ethnic-Hungarian SMK party (4.3 percent) would have failed to clear the 5-percent threshold needed to win representation in Parliament.

All other parties received support of less than 2 percent in the poll. As many as 74.6 percent of the respondents would have gone to the polling stations.

Around 11.7 percent of the respondents wouldn’t have voted, while 12.1 percent wouldn’t have known whom to vote for. The remaining 1.6 percent of the respondents didn’t want to reveal their preferences.
